Czech out card markets in ECL clash

Our football props column is turning to the card markets again on Thursday with a tasty-looking 13/2 Bet Builder in the Europa Conference League.

“Fifteen of the German (referee’s) last 21 UEFA club appointments have seen him show at least four cards, while 12 of those have resulted in at least five.”

We got the predicted card deluge at Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night, only sadly our selection didn’t make the starting XI – hopefully you still found an angle to profit.

Still, the column did highlight how several ingredients can produce a potent card mix and we’ve got similar conditions for this game in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.

First up, the first leg was a cut-and-thrust affair, one which produced six goals (shared equally) and eight yellow cards (five to Feyenoord).

Secondly, we’ve got Deniz Aytekin in charge of the game and he’s a high carder.

Fifteen of the German’s last 21 UEFA club appointments have seen him show at least four cards, while 12 of those have resulted in at least five.

Two cards for each team looks a pretty solid Bet Builder play, while in the player-card market, Orkan Kokcu looks big at 11/4.

The central midfielder is Feyenoord’s most-carded player this season with nine, four of which have come in Europe (in 14 games). For good measure, he’s also been booked in two of his five starts for Turkey.

Finally, both teams to score can be added after last week’s open game which was the third between the sides this season (they also met in the group stage). All three have seen both sides find the net.

Feyenoord have now landed this bet in their last eight in the Conference League, while for Slavia it’s the last seven.

The four legs produce a Bet Builder price of just under 13/2.
